Women Like Me 2025
On August 1st 2025, the University of South Australia hosted Women Like Me, presented by STEM Sisters, which was a transformative evening aimed at empowering women of colour in STEM.
Throughout the panel, they explored visibility in the workplace, community and beyond, inspiring the audience with their passion about how to present yourself in an underrepresented sector in STEM fields. Following the panel, a Q&A session and networking event engaged the audience exploring personal journeys and connections.
Throughout the panel, they discussed topics including overcoming imposter syndrome, navigating workplace dynamics, and balancing personal and professional life. They emphasised the importance of mentorship, resilience, and community in advancing careers in STEM.
Following the panel discussion, attendees participated in a Q&A session, allowing for direct engagement with the panellists. The evening concluded with a networking session, fostering connections among participants and encouraging collaboration and mentorship
The event was received with overwhelmingly positive feedback, with attendees highlighting the event’s impact, with many expressing appreciation for the panelists’ authenticity and the supportive atmosphere, reinforcing the event’s success in empowering women of colour in STEM.

Each of these inspirational women showcased their expertise, empathy and authentic selves about their careers and lifestyles as women of colour.
