STEM SISTERS 7TH BIRTHDAY

This year marks the 7th birthday of STEM SISTER! 🎉 Our journey has been incredible, and we are excited to celebrate the achievements we’ve made together. This year marks a significant milestone as STEM Sisters goes national! We’re excited to have launched our NSW chapter, starting our journey of expanding across Australia to empower even more women of colour in STEM.

So far this year, we’ve grown our community through our mentorship program, connecting 64 mentors with 64 mentees. These relationships have been instrumental in supporting students, graduates, and early career professional women of colour in STEM as they pursue their STEM careers.

Our incredible 52 STEM Sisters Ambassadors of 2024 have worked tirelessly to advocate for women in STEM, leading by example with their passion and dedication. Together, our 24 Soapbox Science speakers 2024, from Victoria and NSW, have shared their expertise, inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. So far this year, we’ve welcomed over 467 new members into the STEM Sisters community, expanding our network of support and resources for women of colour in STEM.

Today, we’ve hosted 13 events that have sparked curiosity and fostered engagement. These gatherings have built a strong sense of community, and several more exciting events are lined up!

We are excited about the upcoming Women of Colour in STEM Awards 2024. This award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of women of colour in STEM. Apply or nominate someone remarkable today! As we celebrate, we’ve also gathered feedback from our speakers, mentors, mentees, and ambassadors on how STEM SISTER has contributed to advancing the STEM industry in Australia, particularly in promoting diversity and inclusion.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our community. Your support, enthusiasm, and dedication have fueled our mission to empower women of colour in STEM. Here’s to many more years of breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation! Cheers to STEM SISTER! 🌟
