STEM-Preneur Melbourne 2025
On July 23rd, the STEM-Preneur Panel Discussion and Networking Event brought together accomplished women of colour in STEM to inspire and support one another. This event was organised by STEM Sisters to share valuable insights from women across the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
Held from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Victoria University Melbourne, attendees experience a welcoming space to engage in meaningful dialogue, share experiences, and form valuable professional connections. It offered an ideal platform for like-minded individuals to exchange ideas, explore potential collaborations, and support one another in their personal and career journeys. The core moment was our panelists discussion captivating the audience about their journeys.
Throughout the panel, our panelists explored workplace challenges, mentorship, ethical considerations and underrepresented voices in STEM fields. A Q&A session followed, allowing attendees to engage with the panelists and explore topics further. The networking opportunities facilitated new connections, collaborations, and mentorships.
Our distinguished panelists included:
- Sangeetha Mulchandani Founder of Jumpstart Studio Global and a third-generation entrepreneur.
- Kaushalya Gunatilaka Leads the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) committee at a venture capital firm.
- Shamila Gopalan CEO of HerWit; Chief Commercial Officer at SisterWorks and advocate to activate women as leaders and role models.
- Irene Tsang Founder and CEO of Lift Women and advocate for supporting women’s voices to be heard and recognised.
Each of these women brought their expertise to the room, sharing their passion and advocacy to inspire the next generation!
The 2025 STEM-PENEUR Melbourne, successfully built a community, empowered women of colour, and advanced their representation in STEM across Australia.
