On July 10, 2023, we proudly hosted the “Harnessing Our Feminine Power” event, along with the launch of the 2023 STEM Sisters Mentoring Program. This gathering celebrated and supported women of color in STEM, providing a vibrant space for sharing experiences, gaining insights, and building community.
The event commenced at 5:00 PM at the Australian Computer Society (ACS) in Victoria, bringing together an inspiring group of women. Our distinguished panel featured influential speakers who exemplified resilience and leadership in their respective fields. Our panelists included Dr. Morley Muse, Shelin David CA, Dr. Anushi (Kulasiri) Rajapaksa, and Professor Asha Rao.
Participants engaged in meaningful networking opportunities, fostering camaraderie and solidarity among fellow professionals, students, and enthusiasts. The event aimed to celebrate the strength and creativity of women of color in STEM, encouraging everyone to embrace their unique journeys. To cap off the evening, we hosted a lively Zumba session, allowing everyone to shake off stress and celebrate movement together.
