Align with STEM Sisters vision to empower women of colour in STEM fields, we connect mentors and mentees based on areas of interest and career goals. These initiatives bring STEM Sisters as a finalist in the 2019 EduGrowth LaunchPad Business Start business plan competition. The submission, interview and presentation by Ruwangi Fernando impressed the judging panel consisting of Ryan O’Hare, Pauline Farrell, Warwick Freeland, Georgina McCann and Angelo Nardozza. The judges commenting that STEM Sisters is a fantastic social-change business. Connecting women of colour to mentors focussed on career progression is a great model to move the needle for this under-represented group.
As a finalist of the 2019 EduGrowth LaunchPad Business Start, STEM Sisters had an opportunity of a mentoring session with an EduGrowth mentor and $10,000 AWS Hosting Credits.
