ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA

A maximum of 50 ambassadors will be recruited for the program. In order to be eligible to apply for this ambassador program, the following requirements should be met:

* Identify as a woman  international student

*Current student or recently graduated from one of the following universities or any other University in Victoria:

  • University of Melbourne
  • Monash University
  • Deakin University
  • Victoria University
  • La Trobe University
  • Federation University
  • RMIT University
  • Swinburne University

*STEM areas

  • Physics and Astronomy
  • Earth Sciences
  • Environmental Studies
  • Information Technology
  • Engineering
  • Agricultural Studies
  • Biological Sciences
  • Natural and Physical Sciences
  • Other Natural and Physical Sciences
  • Mathematical Sciences

Selection Process & Guidelines

Candidates are required to submit their application form with their CV uploaded. A one-minute introduction video is optional.

The selection panel will assess applications based on the following criteria:

  • Explanation of why the Ambassador program is relevant to achieve the candidate’s future career goals in STEM careers
  • Any previous experience in volunteering, leadership, and student advocacy 
  • Demonstration that the applicant has strengths and dedication in contributing to the Ambassador Program 
  • Potential to contribute to future STEM Sisters events and programs 
  • The dynamic of the cohort in terms of STEM areas and universities
